Small ovoid bowl facet cut stem wine glass

Stock Number: 4721

This is what we believe to be a late Georgian, facet cut stem small wine or dram glass dating from the end of the 18th century, c1790.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age.  It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot consistent with some 200 years of use.  It has a rough pontil mark on the foot.
The glass has an ovoid bowl measuring 5 cm (2 inches) in diameter at the rim.  The bowl is plain and sits on an extruded, diamond facet cut stem.  The stem leads to a conical foot which measures 6.3 cm (2.5 inches) in diameter.  The glass is 11.2 cm  (4.5 inches) in height.   There are no chips, cracks, scratches or any obvious signs of restoration.
English lead glass.
Provenance: The Chris Heggadon collection.
