Early four-sided pedestal stem wine glass

Stock Number: 4934

This is what we believe to be an early, Continental, Georgian, pedestal stem wine glass dating from the middle of the 18th century, c1750.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age.  This means, of course, that it shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot consistent with some 250 years of use.  It has a rough pontil mark on the foot.
The glass has a funnel bowl measuring 6.4 cm (2.5 inches) in diameter at the rim.  The bowl is plain and solid to the base and sits on a cushion knop and a four-sided pedestal stem.  The stem leads to a conical, folded foot which measures 7.3 cm (2.9 inches) in diameter.  The glass is 16 cm (6.4 inches) in height.   It weighs 127 g. (~4 1/2 oz.).   There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious signs of restoration.   There is a light trail of extraneous glass on the surface of the bowl dating from manufacture.
High quality continental soda glass.
