Plain stem ale glass, folded foot

Stock Number: 4936

This is what we believe to be a Georgian plain stem ale glass dating from the  middle of the 18th century, c1750.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age.  This means, of course, that it shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot consistent with 250+ years of use.  It has a rough pontil mark on the foot.
The glass has an extended rounded funnel shaped bowl measuring 5.2 cm (2.1 inches) in diameter at the rim.  The bowl is plain and sits on an extruded plain stem and which leads to a conical, folded foot which measures 6.8 cm (2.7 inches) in diameter.  The glass is 16.6 cm (6.6 inches) in height.   It weighs 128 g. (~ 4 1/2 oz.).   There are no chips, cracks, scratches or any obvious signs of restoration.
English lead glass.
