Balustroid wine glass, shoulder knop

Stock Number: 4892

This is what we believe to be a Georgian balustroid wine glass dating from the early 18th century, c1740.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age.  This means, of course, that it shows the age related wear and tear to both the rim of the bowl and to the rim of the foot commensurate with 250+ years of use.  It has a rough pontil mark on the foot.
The glass has a rounded funnel bowl measuring 5.6 cm (2.2 inches) in diameter at the rim.   The bowl sits on a slim, inverted balustroid stem which leads to a conical, folded foot that measures 7.6 cm (3 inches) in diameter.  The glass is 14.8 cm (5.9 inches) in height.  There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.  There are two small inclusions in the metal of the bowl.
It is made from English lead metal.  It weighs 128 g. (~ 4 1/2 oz.).
