Juniper engraved gin glass, conical foot

Stock Number: 3524a

This is what we believe to be a Georgian engraved plain stem gin glass dating from the  middle of the 18th century, c1750.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age.  This means, of course, that it shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot consistent with 200+ years of use.  It has a rough pontil mark on the foot.
The glass has a funnel bowl measuring 5.6 cm (2.2 inches) in diameter at the rim.  The bowl is decorated with a band of foliage under the rim reminiscent of juniper berries, which of course are a component of gin.  The bowl sits on an extruded plain stem and leads to a conical foot which measures 6 cm (2.4 inches) in diameter.  The glass is 12 cm (4.8 inches) in height.   It weighs just 90 g. (>3 oz.).   There are no chips, cracks, scratches or any obvious signs of restoration.
