Large trumpet bowl goblet

Stock Number: 3735

This is what we believe to be a large, Georgian, English, plain stem, trumpet bowl wine goblet dating from the mid 18th century, c1750.  It is shown in the second image next to a normal sized wine glass which is not included in the price.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age.  This means, of course, that it shows age related wear and tear to both the rim of the bowl and to the rim of the foot consistent with some 250 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the foot which is nicely striated as is the bowl.
The glass has a trumpet-shaped bowl measuring 10 cm (4 inches) in diameter at the rim.  The bowl sits on an extruded plain stem containing a long, well-worked air tear and a conical, folded foot which measures 10.3 cm (4.1 inches) in diameter.  The glass is 20 cm (8 inches) in height.  There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.
It is made from lead metal.
