Pedestal stem tazza, 19.8 cm diameter

Stock Number: 4995

This is what we believe to be a small pedestal stem Georgian tazza dating from the mid to late 18th century, c1770.
The tazza is in excellent condition for its age.  This means, of course, that it shows age related wear to the rim of the foot consistent with 200+ years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the foot which is nicely striated as is the bowl.
The tazza has a shallow bowl with an upturned rim measuring 19.8 cm (7.9 inches) in diameter.  The bowl sits on an eight-sided pedestal stem that ends in three thick basal collars.  The stem leads to a domed and folded foot which measures 11.4 cm (4.5 inches) in diameter.  The tazza is 15 cm (6 inches) in height.  There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any evidence of restoration.
It is made from lead metal.  It weighs in at 667 gm. (~ 1 lbs 67 oz).
