Pedestal stem goblet, ovoid bowl

Stock Number: 4915

This is what we believe to be a Georgian, pedestal stem goblet dating from the mid 18th century, c1750.

The glass is in excellent condition for its age.  This means, of course, that it shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot consistent with 200+ years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the foot.

The glass has an ovoid bowl measuring 7.5 cm (3 inches) in diameter at the rim.  The bowl is plain and sits on a merise and a wrythened eight sided pedestal stem which leads to a double merise above a domed foot which measures 8 cm (3.2 inches) in diameter.  The glass is 15.3 cm (6.1 inches) in height.  There are no cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.

It is made from English lead metal weighing in at 300 g. (~ 10 1/2 oz.).
