Double series opaque twist cordial glass

Stock Number: 3744

This is what we believe to be a Georgian, double series opaque twist cordial glass dating from the middle of the 18th century, c1765.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age.  It shows the age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot and the rim of the bowl consistent with approximately 250 years of use.  It has a rough pontil mark on the foot which is nicely striated as is the bowl.
The glass has a rounded funnel shaped bowl measuring 4.8 cm (1.9 inches) in diameter at the rim.   The bowl sits on a double series opaque twist stem consisting of two groups of seven cotton enamel strands wound around a central multiply corkscrew.  The stem sits on a high, conical foot which measures 7 cm (2.8 inches) in diameter.  The glass is 16.8 cm (6.7 inches) in height.  There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.   There is a collector's sticker to the base of the foot.
It is made from English lead metal.
