Dutch triple series opaque colour twist wine glass

Stock Number: 4871

This is what we believe to be a Georgian, Continental (probably Dutch) engraved triple series colour twist wine glass dating from the mid 18th century, c1760.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age.  It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot consistent with some 250+ years of use.  It has a rough pontil mark on the foot.
The glass has an ovoid-shaped bowl measuring 5 cm (2 inches) in diameter at the rim.  The bowl is engraved with a trailing, fruiting vine and sits on a triple series colour twist stem consisting of two ruby and two white opaque enamel strands wound around a central gauze.  The stem leads to a conical foot which measures 6.3 cm (2.5 inches) in diameter.  The glass is 13.2 cm  (5.3 inches) in height.   It weighs 86 g. (~ 3 oz.).   There are no chips, cracks, scratches or any obvious signs of restoration.   There is a rough lateral mark halfway down the stem probably dating from manufacture.
Soda glass.
