Very large multi spiral air twist goblet, trumpet bowl

Stock Number: 3387

This is what we believe to be a large Georgian, multi spiral air twist goblet dating from the middle of the 18th century, c1750.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age.  This means, of course, that it shows the age related wear and tear to both the rim of the bowl and to the rim of the foot consistent with some 250+ years of use.  The bowl is nicely striated as is the foot.
The glass has a trumpet-shaped bowl measuring 11 cm (4.4 inches) in diameter at the rim.   The bowl is plain and sits on a multi spiral air twist stem that leads to a conical, folded foot which measures 9.8 cm (3.9 inches) in diameter and carries a rough pontil mark.  The glass is an impressive 23 cm (9.2 inches) in height.  There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.  There is a collector's sticker to the top of the foot and another on the bottom of the foot.  The glass has had a professional clean.
It is made from good, grey English lead metal.
Provenance: The Henry J. Mein collection.
